A contemporary art gallery opened in Abidjan in 2012, now with spaces in Abidjan, Dakar and Paris, and a regular at international fairs such as 1-54 and Art Basel Miami Beach.
It opened just as the 2011 crisis ended, betting that Abidjan would again become a West African art centre, and it did help build a local collectors' market.
CE QUE VOUS VERREZ · What you will see
A white, minimalist space in Cocody with installation and framing of international standard; collectors, diplomats and artists at the openings.POURQUOI · So what
It is a key gateway linking local artists to international price levels; when Ouattara Watts showed here in 2026, the First Lady received him personally.SAVOIR-FAIRE · How to use it
Asking 'Which fairs has this artist shown at?' sounds more knowing than asking the price. Openings are a good place to meet Abidjan's elite.Asian and European parallelsLike a top Taipei gallery: started locally, building artists' prices through international fairs.
